EFFECTIVE 3 JULY 2026 · GOVERNED BY THE DPDP ACT, 2023 (INDIA)

The short version: your camera never leaves your device except when you explicitly press SHOW HER. Your mic is used only during a LIVE conversation you start, streamed in real time and never stored. What you type or say to VOX is stored so she can work and improve. Your email is stored only if you give it. Nothing is sold, ever.

1 · Who we are

Starvox Labs, Mumbai, India ("we", "us") operates starvoxlabs.io and the VOX interface. For anything in this policy — questions, requests, complaints — write to legal@starvoxlabs.io (this address also serves as our grievance contact under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).

2 · What we collect, and why

Conversation text. What you type or speak to VOX, and her replies — with a random session ID, your IP address, browser type, and timestamps. Purpose: answering you, improving VOX's answers, abuse prevention.
Email address. Only if you type it to VOX or otherwise give it to us. Purpose: contacting you about access to Starvox products.
Usage events. Which features you use (mic, camera, apps opened), errors encountered, with IP and browser info. Purpose: making the product work and improving it.
Microphone audio. Used only during a LIVE conversation you start, after consent: your audio streams in real time to OpenAI's voice service and VOX's voice streams back. We do not store the audio; transcripts are treated as conversation text above. Sessions are capped at three minutes and end the moment you tap again.
Camera. The visitor feed is rendered entirely on your device and is never uploaded — with one explicit exception: pressing SHOW HER sends that single frame to our AI provider (Anthropic) so VOX can answer what she sees. The frame is not stored by us, and nothing is ever sent without that press. Close the feed anytime with ✕.

Consent, recorded. Mic and camera activate only after you tick the consent box the first time. You can withdraw anytime: stop the feature, or clear this site's data in your browser — and consent will be asked again.

3 · Who processes your data

To generate answers, transcriptions, and live voice we send conversation text, images, and audio to AI providers acting as processors: Anthropic (answers, vision) and OpenAI (speech-to-text, live voice), under their API terms, which prohibit training on this data by default. Our servers are hosted in Mumbai, India. We do not sell personal data, run advertising, or share data with anyone else except if the law requires it.

4 · Cookies & local storage

We set no tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage for preferences only: voice on/off, consent record, cursor/tour state. Delete them anytime via your browser settings.

5 · Retention

Conversation and usage logs: up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised.
Mic and live-voice audio: never stored — streamed only.
Camera: never stored (never leaves your device except the one explicit SHOW HER frame, itself not retained).
Email leads: until the purpose is served or you ask us to delete it, whichever is first.

6 · Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

You may request: access to your personal data, correction, erasure, and withdrawal of consent; you may also nominate a person to exercise these rights. Write to legal@starvoxlabs.io with your session details if you have them — we respond within a reasonable time. If unsatisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

7 · Children

The site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8 · Security

Everything travels over HTTPS. Logs live on access-restricted servers. VOX's answers are AI-generated — don't type secrets, passwords, or anyone else's personal data into a conversation with her.

9 · Changes

We'll post changes here with a new effective date. Material changes to how mic/camera data is handled will re-trigger the consent prompt.
